unique antelope like sitatunga, bushbucks, velvet monkeys, genet cats, spotted necked

introduced species such as chimpanzees, elephants, giraffes, black and white
colubus monkeys, suni and African grey parrots. Sitatunga is only
fond in Rubondo island and crocodiles are plent.

Rubondo Island is
located on the south-western corner of Lake Victoria in Geita region. Distance is
about 150 km (95 miles) west of Mwanza city. Lake Victoria is the second
largest lake in the world. The Lake is also the source of the longest river in
the world, River Nile.
It is easier to
visit Rubondo island national park when doing a wildlife safari national park
to Serengeti National park. Best season to visit is from July to December and
January to March. Approximately 9 days is enough to explore northern circuit
game parks, Lake Victoria and Rubondo Island.
