This tour features ABUNDANT WILDLIFE, BOAT SAFARIS IN SELOUS, and WALKING SAFARIS AND GAME DRIVES. And southern Circuit safari parks are more remote and less-crowded experience compared to the northern circuit safari part.
Day 1: Pick up from the hotel/Airport and drive down south and to Selous Game Reserve. At 55,000 km sq, Selous is the largest protected largest game reserve in the world. It is named after legendary British hunter-explorer Frederick Courtney Selous, who was killed here during the WW1.Have Overnight at Lodge/Campsite Full Board.
Day 2: Morning boat safaris along Rufiji River which will be followed by the full day game
drive in the reserve, overnight at lodge/Campsite Full board.
Selous boasts of Tanzania's largest population of elephant as well as large numbers of herds of buffalo, hippo, crocodile, wild dog, a variety of 440 species of birds, over 2000 variety of plants, hot volcanic springs, lagoons, the great Rufiji River and the diverse landscape makes Selous Game Reserve a World Heritage site. Other species commonly seen are lion, bushbuck, impala, giraffe, eland, baboon, zebra and greater kudu.
Day 3: After Breakfast we depart with packed lunch Boxes for a full day game drive in Mikumi National Park. Have Overnight at lodge/Campsite full board.
Mikumi N.P. is Tanzania's third largest National Park and covers an area of 3230 sq
km. One of the principal features of Mikumi is the Mkata River flood plain, an area of lush vegetation, which particularly attracts elephants and buffaloes. The park is flanked between the Uluguru and Udzungwa Mountains. Open grasslands dominate in the flood plain, eventually merging with the miombo woodlands covering the lower hills. Mikumi National Park is home to buffalos, giraffes, elephants, lions, zebras, leopards and is also famous for its wild dogs and 6m long pythons
Day 4: After breakfast go for a morning game drive then depart for Ruaha National Park. Ruaha is approximately 5hrs drive from Mikumi. This is one of the most scenic routes
in southern circuit, villages, hills, mountain, local agricultural projects on the great Ruaha River are some of the attractions on this route. Have Overnight at Lodge/Campsite full board.
Day 5: RUAHA NATIONAL PARK is Tanzania's 2nd biggest park and host to a number of
animals which are rare or absent in the North. The rare animals include the African Wild dog, roan and sable antelope and the greater kudu. The Great Ruaha River that provides life to the park, flows through the eastern side of the park and is home to hippos, crocodiles and a variety of water birds. Do Full day game drive. Have Over night at Lodge/Campsite full board.
Day 6: After Breakfast we depart with lunch packed boxes Morogoro. Overnight at Lodge/ Hotel Half Board (Camping option, overnight at Campsite Full Board)
Day 7: After breakfast you depart for Dar es Salaam. On arrival you are dropped at the airport to connect with your flight home.
